Payouts

A payout is when funds are sent from a merchant’s Orbital account to a receiver’s external wallet or bank account.

  • Supported cryptocurrencies: USDT, USDC, ETH, BTC, LTC, BCH
  • Supported fiat currencies: USD, GBP, EUR

Payouts can involve:

  • Fiat-to-crypto conversion (e.g., USD to USDT)
  • Crypto-to-crypto conversion (e.g., USDT to ETH)

What to Know

  • Destination Address
Every payout must include a valid wallet address on the supported blockchain network.

  • Fee Handling
By default, the merchant pays the network fee, however you can shift the fee to the receiver by setting feeCoverage = true.

  • Travel Rule Requirements
Depending on the regulated entity (PPOU or PPDL) and the recipient type (individual or corporate), additional identification data must be provided. Payouts will be blocked if required Travel Rule fields are missing or incomplete.

  • Approval Workflow
If Transaction approvals are enabled for the account, payouts will be held in a pending state until approved by a user with the appropriate role.

  • Status & Lifecycle
Once submitted, payouts move through various statuses. These are surfaced via webhook events and API polling.
