Flexible Invoice and Auto Refunds

Empower your Hosted Payment Page with precise control over payment thresholds, ensuring tailored transaction processing for your business.

Our new feature for our invoice payment product provides merchants with enhanced flexibility and control. Merchants are now be able to customise allowed or rejected payment thresholds for their end users, ensuring that payments meet their specified criteria.

This improvement aims to streamline the payment process and better accommodate specific business needs with a threshold. This means that clients can accept an overpayment or underpayment that meets their set % criteria.

Here’s an example:

Let's say a merchant sets an overpayment threshold of 1%. This means that the merchant is willing to accept £101 for a £100 payment. Similarly, if the merchant sets an underpayment threshold of 1%, it means they are willing to accept £99 for a £100 payment.

To configure overpayment and underpayment thresholds:

  • Log in to your account at https://www.getorbital.com/.
  • Navigate to the eCommerce section.
  • Click on Configurations ⚙️
  • Under Payment configurations, input the allowed threshold for underpayment and overpayment.
  • Once the user inputs the allowed threshold for under and over payments, click on save.
  • You don’t need to input the percentage symbol, just the numbers (1-9). The system will interpret them as percentages.

Auto Refund

General Rule: Auto refunds handle amounts outside your set thresholds. Amounts that are underpaid or overpaid within the threshold are processed as normal.

Overpaid Deposit Example:

  • Invoiced Amount: 3 USDT
  • Paid Amount: 4.5 USDT
  • Outcome:

3 USDT processed as usual for the invoice to be paid.

1.5 USDT split: 0.1 USDT for network fee returned to Orbital for processing, 1.4 USDT refunded to the end user.

Refund instructions are sent on Hosted Payment Page and email notification to the end user.

Underpaid Deposit Example:

  • Invoice Amount: 3 USDT
  • Paid Amount: 2 USDT
  • Outcome:

Payment is failed.

Refund of 1.9 USDT after 0.1 USDT network fee.

Refund instructions are sent on Hosted Payment Page and email notification to the end user.
