How to Enable or Disable Transaction Approval Rule

Transaction approval rules add an extra layer of security against unapproved high-risk transactions by requiring designated users to approve payments before they are processed.

  • Ensure that the users assigned to approve transactions have been carefully chosen and are authorised to approve transactions on behalf of the company.
  • Review the approvers regularly.

Who Can Manage Approval Rules?

  • Super Admins can enable and disable approval rules.
  • Super Admins and Admins can modify existing rules (change approval requirements and approval group members).

How to Enable Transaction Approval

Use this to require at least one approval before transactions will be processed.

  1. On the top right of the page, click the dropdown menu.
  2. Select Transaction Approval.
  3. On the Transaction Approval page, toggle on the Approval Settings button at the top right.
  1. Configure your approval rule:
  • Required number of approvers: Enter the number of approvals needed for a transaction to be processed.
  • Select approvers: Select the names of users you want to be part of the Approval Group - they will have the ability to approve transactions.
  1. Click Continue to activate your approval rule.

What Happens Next?

Once enabled, any transaction to an external beneficiary or internal transfer to an eCommerce account will require approval before Orbital processes it. Transactions will wait in the approval queue until the required number of designated approvers review them.

How to Disable Transaction Approval

Disable Transaction Approval only if you no longer want any transaction to require approval.

  1. On the top right of the page, click the dropdown menu.
  2. Select Transaction Approval.
  3. On the Transaction Approval page, toggle off the Approval Settings button at the top right.
⚠️

You can only disable Transaction Approval when there are no transactions pending approval in the Approval Queue. You must first approve or reject all pending transactions before you can disable Transaction Approval.

What Happens Once Transaction Approval is Disabled?

All transactions to external beneficiaries will be submitted immediately to Orbital for processing without requiring approval. You may not be able to cancel these transactions once processing has commenced.
